On currency depreciation

Since 2010 the Venezuelan bolivar has depreciated more than 230,000%.

In 2008 you could buy a car for BsF. 8,000; as of July 2017 the same amount of money could buy you only a cup of coffee.

Venezuelans’ purchasing power has reduced dramatically, to the point that -according to unofficial sources- approximately 80% of Venezuelans do not earn enough to buy food.
